I’m Alan Daly and you have found your way to the web site for my Lipstick Traces Soul Lounge.
So, what does the Lipstick Traces Soul Lounge offer? I guess the answer is mostly contained in the banner above. However, it is worth telling you that I’m not a jobbing DJ looking for paid gigs at parties and weddings – I’d hate to mislead anybody. I’m also not House, Trance, Rave, Neo-Soul nor Acid. Given that I was born in Brixton and spent my formative years at clubs like The Scene and The Ram Jam, I hardly qualify as Northern Soul. That said, I do doff my hat to the Northern Soul community for keeping Soul Music alive.
The foundations of the music I play can be found along the backbone of the USA – Detroit, Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans. So confident am I in those foundations that I find no difficulty merging in other genres that pay respect to them.
The site is in its infancy so it is not a weighty exercise to scroll though. Any suggestions, at least those that don’t require anatomical gymnastics, would be welcome.
